Information Textiles
Experiments for textiles that could be made into clothing that is covered in a pattern made of QR codes that link directly to a person’s FaceBook, MySpace, Twitter, and Flickr pages.
Initial experiments included a layer of magenta thermochromatic ink printed over the pattern to obstruct actual use of the QR codes unless the wearer heats up the fabric exposing the codes.
Future versions will make use of the paper thin resistive heating we have developed to tap into the body’s natural resistance (Galvanic skin response) to determine if the wearer is nervous to automatically obstruct the QR codes. When the wearer is calm the codes will re-appear.
