These new dandies aim to subvert the traditional aesthetic of digital art by subverting the cold, unfinished, raw, and very masculine aesthetic of most digital art. Inspired by the flamboyant and refined dandy of the 19th century they feel a close connection to these men who would strive to imitate aristocratic life despite being raised in a middle-class background. To them, ornamentation in digital art is a backlash against the masculine image of technology and machines.
